The Muskoka Off Road Riders Association regrets to inform our affiliates and members that we have decided to close our club. We have tried over the last four years to secure riding areas in our region without success. Setbacks within our club, a lack of current direction and with little to no volunteer base, we have decided to cease operation as a club. We feel this is the responsible approach as we do not want to be operating as a club with no offerings to our members. It is not fair to the OFTR or our local membership to be receiving membership resources when there are no riding areas in which to direct this to. We feel that continuing without places to ride only frustrates our membership and is negative publicity for our sport as a whole and the OFTR. We will continue to advocate for the OFTR, volunteer with events and promote safe and responsible riding in our area, as like-minded individuals. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the last four years and for your understanding, this is not an easy decision. As a reminder, clubs only thrive with the input and actions from volunteers, please volunteer to help out with your local club events, help make them strong to reinforce the sense of community and enjoyment off road motorcycle riding brings to so many. Positive reinforcement is key in creating a public brand which broadens the reaches of our sport and ultimately benefits us all through good public image. Thank you for your understanding, wishing everyone an excellent riding season.
Muskoka Off Road Riders Association
MORRA is dedicated to building a trail database, along with the OFTR, to provide riding areas for our membership. There may not be current trails in your area at this time, as trail mapping is a continuing process, over terrain and time. If you have any offerings for areas to ride in Muskoka, and would like MORRA to participate in helping you develop a member based trail system, part of the OFTR, on currently used crown land, or private land, please let us know. Our success is based on community minded people looking to support off road riding in Ontario. The majority of involved people are volunteers, riders like you.
